What is Smilelign?
Smilelign is a clear orthodontic treatment that offers an alternative to traditional, metal braces. The braces are clear, custom-made and removable – allowing you to continue with everyday life.
How does it work?
Smilelign consists of a series of clear braces, worn for 3 weeks at a time, that gradually move teeth into the desired position.
How long does treatment take?
The treatment length varies from case to case, depending on complexity. Your dentist will be able to indicate how long treatment could take at your treatment consultation, the typical time frame is 6-12 months.
Is it the same as other brands like Invisalign?
Smilelign produces the same great results as other brands, the unique benefits of Smilelign are that they provide pre-aligners to check your suitability of treatment before starting and they are UK based lab which is ideal if any issues arise.
How much does it cost?
The cost of treatment is dependent on the complexity of your case. Our prices start at £1200 and go up to £3000.
Is it comfortable?
You may experience some discomfort or tightness when you first put your braces in, or when you move onto the next aligner in the sequence. Your speech may also be affected during these stages. Both are perfectly normal and should subside within a few days.
How do I start treatment?
Firstly you need to book an initial 10 minute consultation with your dentist to see if your case is suitable for Smilelign. If suitable, the dentist will take impressions of your teeth and send them to Smilelign to produce your treatment plan – this includes before and after images of your teeth*. When your models come back we will book you in for another consultation to discuss your treatment plan and give you your pre-aligners. If you proceed with treatment you will need to attend regular check-ups to receive your new braces and check your teeth are progressing as they should.
